if you haven't figured oout yet that IE 7 and IE 6 sux I'll tell you know! IE 7 and IE 6 SUX! and what's worse is that my work place does not official support FF. So, when I write code I need to test it on both. and 9.7 times out of 10 the JavaScript / AJAX code works in FF but NOT in IE. When I see that it's not working in IE i am not that surprised. I start digging the net. Google is my friend!

The last couple of days I spent trying to figure out why something worked in FF but not in IE. The answer I found was simple. I was dynamically adding HTML elements with events attached to them. In FF simple objectToAdd.setAttribute("onClick","removeThisRow(this.parentNode.parentNode.rowIndex)"); works like a champ. In IE not! you need to change this line to be objectToAdd.onclick = function() {removeThisRow(this.parentNode.parentNode.rowIndex);}; and it works in IE and FF.

Why IE needs to be such a pain?

KVM switch

Even though I have 4 PCs in my room, I decided to get another one from work. My work is letting us take a PC (Dell, GX260 - P4 2.4GHz, 1GB RAM) to work from home. It is a sweet deal. The "problem" is that I have to return it in 5 years!!!! So...in 2012 I need to bring it back. :( I bought a KVM switch IOGEAR GCS62 from RadioShack for 29.99 + tax. I think it's a good deal.

The switch works like a champ. GX260 is gonna be main WinXP pc...and that is it...no more lin/win dual boot. I am about to format C partition.
